Roses

The front hall is lined with suitcases, gifts and other stuff we can't live without for a week. I really should be in bed but couldn't resist making just one more card. And low and behold it's not a gift card holder. :)

This picture isn't the greated picture of the card but it does show the glitter on the roses better than the first card.

I found the sketch over at Friday Sketchers

The color combo is from Just Us Girls the challenge was to use raspberry, green, kraft and red.

gift card holder take four

Ok, one last gift card holder using the stamp set from Whimsie Doodles. We were supposed to be on the road today but were heading to VA and considering the TONS of snow they are getting we thought it was wise to stay home an extra day and brave the road tomorrow.

The sketch is from The Pixie Cottage, we were challenged us to use red, green and gold on our creation over at Crafty Creations Challenge and eibbon, a Christmas theme and a current sketch over at Cooking it up with Katie.

gift card holder take three

I was able to get one final gift card holder designed and finally settled on a quote for the inside. Can you tell I love this stamp set. Now to try to find time to make a few more using the three designs before we leave for the in-laws Sat morning. I still have to finish doing a load of laundry, finish throwing a few clothes in the suitcase and entertain the little man, me thinks me shouldn't have procrastinated

I used the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches
I also tried my best to follow the challenge at Tuesday Morning sketches. The challenge was to use 1 tag, 1 hidden message and lots of glitter. I'm not a huge fan of the mess glitter leaves so for me this is lots of glitter. The is glitter on the word Santa on the outside of the card and glitter on Santa's hat and his cuffs. For the tag I folded a peice of paper in half, lined the folded edge slightly above the bottom cut line of the Sizzix tag. I then scored the back side of the tag and cut off the scallop part on the front tag. I folded the scallop down to create the closure

The paper is retired paper from The Angel Company
The Santa saying and the underwear is from Whimsie Doodles

The Santa on the tag is from The Angel Company

The saying inside the tag is printed off my computer.

gift card holder take two

I was able to get one more gift card holder finished. I'm hoping to get at least one more designed after little man's bedtime. The inside of the card is very simple just a pocket to place the gift card. I'm still tossing around a few ideas for a cute saying for the inside.
This card is for several challenges
The sketch came from A Spoon Full of Sugar.
Over at Tellen's Place the challenge was to use black so the base of my card is black as is the layer under the saying.
Digital Ink Co challenged us to make a last minute gift. This will truely be a last minute gift as we don't have the gift cards to go inside the card yet.
The Pink Elephant challenged us to make something for Christmas or winter.

gift card holder take one

If all goes according to my plans I will have several versions of a gift card holder to show, my one year old may have other plans though LOL.

The sketch I found over at sketch and stash.

The stamp is a digital stamp I found over at Whimsie Doodles, I bought it a week ago but didn't get anything made with it until now.

You can't tell in the photo and you can barely tell in person but I went over the word Santa with a versamarker then I added a two toned red and gold embossing powder.
The paper is from SU!,

ready for a Christmas ball

This card made the top three over at Tellen's Place

This is a quick and simple card. The challenge over at the pink elephant was to use your favorite Christmas combo. I'm a traditional kind of gal so I chose to go with the traditional red and green for my favorite Christmas colors.

The sweet digi image is this weeks freebie from Tellen's place. The challenge over there was to do paper peicing.

The red on her dress is red wine #1 DCVW paper with a white core. After I printed the image I used a cuttlebug embosssing folder on the dress then sanded the embossed section to created white swirls.

Tuesday morning challenge

This cute little bear is a retired image from The Angel Company. The paper is a digital kit from The Creative Cottage.

A fairy for Danni

This card is for the fairy challenge over at http://flutterbywednesdays.blogspot.com/

NOw fairies really aren't my thing but I found some really, really adorable fairies over at Daisy May. I decided to use the little fairy all decked out in her winter clothes since it's gotten colder and while it hasn't snowed in my neck of the woods it has snowed in Danni's part of the crafting world. So here's a fairy just for you.

Valentine card

I made this card for several challenges. A first for me lets see if I can get them all listed.

at http://thepixiecottage.blogspot.com/ the challenge was to use stitching somewhere on the card so I faux stitched around the main image.

over at http://tellensplace.blogspot.com/ the challenge was to use pink and red to create a Valentine card. The cute image is a free digi offered over there check it out.

http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/ challenged use to your favorite coloring medium. I used my trusty Faber- Castell watercolor pencils.

http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ the sketch came friday sketchers

and the last challenge was at http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/group/sweetnsassystamps to use hearts
phew I think that's all the challenges.

The main image is from Tellen's place, the heart stamps are from The Angel Company, te paper is from my stash.

Tellen's place challenge #2

Tellen's place had another freebie digtal image up for grabs and the challenge is to use red and green. How easy is that. Too bad the project I choose to create wasn't a quick simple project. Between fixing a Thanksgiving meal and chasing down my 1 year old I didn't finish this project as soon as I would have liked but here it is.

When I saw this image I instantly thought of the Christmas planner I've seen made from a file folder. I couldn't find the orginal creator when I went back to search but I did a variation of the planner using envelopes over at Heather Scott's website. She was kind enough to post the inserts to place in the planner. http://stampez.typepad.com/

The decorations on the inside of the planner are stamps from The Angel Company. The paper is from a retired paper pack from The Angel Company.

Tellen's first challenge

I found this super cute digi image at Tellen's Place. http://tellensplace.blogspot.com/2009/11/our-weekly-wednesday-challenge.html

This is my first venture into the digital world. I'm liking it.

I thought the saying was just perfect for my nugget box.

You really can't tell since I colored all of the robe pink including the cuffs, but I used Fun flock to make the cuffs of her robe fuzzy. Her slippers needed some extra pizzaz so I added a flower brad to each slipper. I also added a touch of Diamond Glaze to the coffee to make it look like liquid in the cup. If you like this image as much as I do go check out Tellen's Place to grab this image for yourself.

GS #15

Before the virus kicked me out of my blogger account I made a personal goal to post a card or a project at least 3 times a week. I guess I'm making up for lost time. 3 cards in one day. This card was made from a sketch at Get Sketchy http://getsketchy.blogspot.com/2009/11/gs-15.html
It went together super fast.
The paper is from SU! and the image is Wonderful Day from The Angel Company.

PPA17

Now to find all the stuff I'm been working on for hte past 6 months and get it loaded.

Alex

This cute little guy's name is Alex. He's another retired stamp from The Angel Company. I have a TON of stamps and finally decided that I need to get over m hangup of only using current sets. I can't part with any of my stamps but yet I don't use them because they are retired. Crazy. Since I finally decided to return to the stamps I love I've found I'm making more cards.
Anyways back to the card, the background is made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I inks the folder using my Kaleidascope pad and a brayer, placed the paper inside then ran it through my Big Shot. I still need to perfect the technique because there is ink in the raised sections which should be completely white. The buttons are a sizzix die that I applied Crystal effects over to make it look like a glossy button. Alex is colored in with watercolor pencils.

I"m still not completly happy with this card. I like all my elements I'm just not sure they look good together.

This card used a retired TAC set called The Arts and a current set Asian art. I embossed the flowers and hte butterfly then used my Twinkling H2O'sto color in the image.

Father's Day card

here's another brayered card. This one I sent to my dad for father's day.

As I was dgging through my old stamp sets I found a frog set that has a cattails seet. I do beleive that will be the set I try with the brayered sunset. That's asssuming my 7 month old will entertain himself long enough for me to get it done.
