I sprayed Glitz's spritz from Lindy's Stamp gang on the poinsettia to give it a glimmer. I also sprayed Krylon Easy tack spray on the snowflake and then placed ultra fine glitter on it.

A Homespun Christmas Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the A Homespun Christmas Blog Hop. Thank you so much for hopping with us, we hope this hop provides lots of inspiration on gifts to make for the holiday season. We have 2 sponsors for this blog hop.

The first sponsor is Scraptastical Kreations.

She is offering a $20 Gift Certificate to her store: To be eligible to win the Gift Certificate you must go to her Facebook fanpage https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scraptastical-Kreations/120204111343309?fref=ts and like the page (if you’re not a fan already) and you must also leave a comment on the fan page.

The second sponsor is Hot Berry Designs (me).

I am also offering a $20 Gift Certificate to my store: To be eligible to win the Gift Certificate you must go to my Facebook fanpage https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hot-Berry-Designs/288054737891436?fref=ts and like the page (if you’re not a fan already) and you must also leave a comment on the fan page.

I made a 2 gifts.
The first gift I made is called a honeycomb ornament and I followed the directions found here. The gal in video uses a Spellbinder die, I own a Gazelle and refuse to buy dies which limit me to a few sizes. Instead I used a paper piecing pattern from Scrappy Dew called Christmas bulbs. I used the ornament on the far right for my ornament. This video recommends using the largest ornament in the spellbinder set (which is 4 3/4") The first 2 ornaments I made were waaaay too small so I finally took the time to look it up, lol. The directions also recommend using lightweight double sided paper. All my lightweight scrapbook paper is single sided so I printed digital paper from Hot Berry Design's Winter Flurries II on letter size printer paper as double sized paper.

For my second gift my son and I decorated a Krafty Blok. I used the paper piecing file KISS ornaments from Scraptastical Kreations for this gift. The word Peace was written on vellum using a glitter pen in my Gazelle. Typically small strands of lights are placed inside the block. I wanted my 4 year to help with the gift because it is for his speech teacher. So inside the block are strips of double sided paper I wrapped around a pencil to look like curled ribbon and my son dropped them inside. I thought the double sided paper gives the inside a little different look than just using curling ribbon. My son picked out the ribbon to place on the block and I made my very first bow.

In addition to the chance to win the gift certificate I am also giving away a free digital paper pack called Winter Flurries. To download it you will need to go to my facebook page, you will find the download link in the tab labeled " Free Digital Kit "

Seems a Little Sketchy sketch 26

I'm having fun playing with the new A Homespun Christmas paper kit found in my store. The kit only comes with the paper so for my clipart I used KaDoodle Bug Design's Elf School House and Santa's Workshop Crew both of which are Kristi W Designs original clipart. The sketch came from Seems a Little Sketchy

Kristy W Design's Santa's Tree farm and Technostamper sketch 254

I used My Digital Studio to create this card using sketch 245 from Techno Stamper. The digital paper I used is paper I created and can be found at Hot Berry Designs. The buttons are Stampin Up! whisper white digital buttons. The yellow truck can be found at Kadoodle Bug Designs and is a Kristy W Designs set called Santa's Tree Farm. Mrs Claus also came from KaDoodle Bug Designs and is a Kristy W Designs set called Santa's Workshop Crew.

Here is the sketch I followed from Techno Stamper.
