Sweet Sketch Wednesday

I"ve had the idea for this card floating around in my head for a while. When I saw this sketch over at sweet sketch wednesday I knew this was the pertect sketch for my idea.

For the peices to this card I used cutter files from Kadoodle Bug Designs. It's hard to tell in this picture but each peice is seperate and individually inked. The boy came from the Easter kids collection, the flowers are from March Fairy Flowers and the flower pot is from Springful Hummingbirds.
The patterned paper is some that I picked up from a blog train calledThe Blog Train Blog the palette this month was stunning.

February Flower Fairy

I just love the new series of paper peicing KaDoodle Bug Designs has designed. This card uses a collection called February Flower Fairies. I'm trying to get through my stash of paper and pulled out paper from The Angel Company.

birthday card

This card is for my neice's birthday. The main image is from Little Scraps of Heaven. I used 2 different files. The dress is from the Cooking Up Some Fun set. The girl's body is from the Minature Golf set. I just love the flexibility of paper peicing, you can get exactly the look you want.  The stamp you can barely see in the bottom right corner is from The Angel Company. The  green strips of paper were embossed using a Cuttlebug folder. The purple paper was embossed with a SU! embossing folder. The buttons are also from SU!

Hello Crafty friends, I love all things 3-D so when I saw the challenge over at Just Us Girls I knew I had to join. This door hanger is from Kadoodle Bug Designs The 3-D paper rose also from KaDoodle Bug Designs. I cut 4 of the  flower from Home Sweet Hive and assembled them into a 3-D rose. The love on the pink tag is from The Angel Company. The ribbon is from my stash. The heart paper  that forms the box is printed from SU!s MDS program, the paper under the large love and under the heart scallops is Melon Mambo from SU, the light pink paper from my stash,  the patterned paper forming the back is from DCWV.

This project is also for the following challenges.

You won't want to miss a single spring project so make sure you to start at the beginning of spring at Kimberly's blog http://scrappingrookie.blogspot.com/

And now that we have the formal stuff out of the way here is my project.

I had so much fun doing my project. I have 2 boys so I don't take the time to do too many girly projects. Pastels and flowers really don't scream "boy project" so I decided to make something for my niece.

And here is a close up of the little girls, I need to practice creating faces, these still leave a lot to be desired.

This is a 10 x 10 inch magnetic board for my niece, once I make a trip to the store there will be magnets under the flowers above the girls. I'm a bit of a late addition to the blog hop and didn't take time to run to the store for magnets.
Allee's name is cut from a font I have on my computer. The cute little girls and flowers are from KaDoodle Bug Designs I used quite a few files to get the look I wanted. All the flowers came Home Sweet Hive. I was even able to make the 3-D rose using the flowers from that file. I just love 3-D flowers so I was really excited about that.
The girls came from several different files. The girl on the right in the green dress is from Gameland Bears. This file has a bear in the dress so I used the girl from the Graduation Collection. The other 2 girls are from Princess Carlee and the Frog. Had I looked at the files a little better I would have used Rella the pumpkin princess since she has the same dress and well she's a girl not a bear. For the little girl in the purple dress I used the girl from the Graduation Collection again and I took off the bottom half of the dress.

If you are on facebook you can like my page here

Thank you for stopping by and remember "think spring" and have that "spring fling"!!

your next stop along the way on the garden path is Jessica Owens http://toocutebyjessica.blogspot.com/

sweet baby boy card

so Thursday Hubby called to tell me he was swinging by the hospital to see his coworkers new baby. Then he said I need a card for all the guys to sign, do you want to make one or do you want me to pick one up. Of course I'll make one, no problem. Now most cards I make are traditional handmade size (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) so once I say sure I"ll make it there's a huge pause. umm 40 guys need to sign it and have room to leave a comment if they want.
40 guys, he doesn't need a card he needs a mini book so here is my "card" I welded words to the end of each page in the card so there are 5 pages to my card. Plenty of room for 40 men to sign and leave a long comment.
The adorable monkey is from KaDoodle Bug Designs it's in the you're so Sock-able set. This is actually a valentine set so no diaper to be found. I used the diaper and the bottle top from Baby's First Easter. This is another cute set and if I didn't love that monkey so much I would have used the bunny, I could only use the bottle top because the bunny has a carrot bottle. Adorable for the bunny but doesn't make much sense for a monkey. The bottle is actually a rounded rectangle with the sides pulled in a bit.
The design on the paper is stamps from The Angel Company.

Holly Jolly Christmas

I've been itching to participate in a color challenge for a while but my SU paper collection isn't huge and my paper stash never seemed to have the right colors. I had a duh moment the other night: use My Digital Studio. I picked up some overlays from Ocean Wide Designs so now I can create my own DSP for the colors SU doesn't offer as DSP.
This week over at Colour Q they had a fairly traditional Christmas palette.

Here is the card I made using the cute snow bunny peeker digital stamp from KaDoodle Bug Designs I really wish MDS would allow you to color your images in the program. The bunny would look much better with a shadow. Both the red paper and the green striped paper have overlays from Ocean Wide Designs over top. All the other elements from this card are from MDS.

Feed ME!!

I seem to be using the dog cutting file from KaDoodle Bug DEsigns quite a bit lately. He's such a cute dog. I have at least 2 more projects floating around in my head that uses this cutie.
This little puppy is for my son, I opted to use scraps from my stash since this will not be something that I expect to be around for a long time so he's not the pretties puppy I've made. With 2 small boys I'll be lucky if it will be around for a month. He's been finished for a few days and I've already had to pop his head back into shape. He was stepped on, poor guy.

birthday cupcakes

I made these cupcake toppers using the png files from Little Scraps of Heaven's Fireman pattern. I also used a shape file from Penny Duncan
I had a duh moment after I had the cupcakes frosted. I roasted the 3 pumkpins we decorated from Halloween so I have a TON of pumpkin in my freezer. I found a yummy pumpkin cupcake recipe complete with a pumpkin frosting. I wasn't until I started sticking the cupcake toppers in that it dawned on me that orange frosting didn't quite go with my red, white and black fireman theme. Oh well they tasted really good.

I made this dalmation for my son's birthday party. The file is the from KaDoodle Bug Designs The original file is not a dalmation, I hand cut a bunch of spots to turn this cute dog into a dalmation.

My time made easy challenge

The colors started out from a blog I discovered late last night. I turned away from the computer and the darn thing restarted on it's own. I found the website that had the sketch again but I have no idea what color challenge I was following. Uggh. The original challenge was to use black, white, peach parfait, so saffron and daffodil delight. Since I lost the website I changed the black to pink but used the rest of the colors.
I created this card using the sketch from My time made easy ">

The little girl is a cutting file from Treasurebox designs
In real life the little girl has a mouth, not sure why it's not showing up in the picture.

2nd layout from this weekend

Here is the second layout I finished this weekend. Again the papers are from my stash. Most of these cut files are from KaDoodle Bug Designs. I played around with the scissor feature in Funtime and created the 'leaves' of the tree from a circle and I made the dirt path to the dog house from a rectangle. I had purchased a fall tree file that did not come with a canopy of leaves just single leaves, she does have several files that have trees with a full canopy just an FYI.

All in quiet in the house so I think little man may have crashed for the night. I think I will crash too, the baby will be up early.

a few more layouts

Well my 3 year old ate his supper hopped down from his chair while we were still eating supper to go hang out in the living room. When we went to check on him he was napping on the couch. A nap at 6 pm is never good. He's still running laps around the house but I'm too tired to play with paper so I thought I would upload the layouts I've finished in the last few days. Have to say I really enjoy having the craft room adjacet to the living room.

All the paper is from my stash. The Army will move a certain amount of household goods weight for free. I taught preschool before kids and kept all my files/ lesson plan stuff mix that in with scrapbooking and you have a recipe for a weight problem. After looking at the boxes of paper we moved my husband placed a paper ban on me. The amount of paper coming into the house has to equal the amount of paper going out of the house. I will be selling this layout so I have earned myself 6 sheets of paper hehe. (we moved well over 150 lbs of scrapbooking paper so I don't think I'll be cashing in my 6 sheets anytime soon- can we say horder)
The cutting files are from Little Scraps of Heaven.

3-D haunted house

Well I hope this is the start of more blog posts. We recently moved, one requirement for this house is that my craft area is on the same level as the family room. I even managed to get my craft are in the same area as the living room. We still have a TON of boxes that need to be unpacked but the kitchen is unpacked, the bedrooms are unpacked and my craft room is mostly unpacked. So we can eat, sleep, wear clothes and most importantly I can create.
Little Scraps of Heaven was having a challenge to create something Halloween using their cutter files. I finally settled on creating a 3-D scene. Half way through I decided I was insane, the file is a 2-D file intended for your scrapbook pages. I finally decided that may house was not going to be perfectly square and that would just have to be ok.
I used the files Haunted House and Haunted Graveyard. An LED flameless candle fits inside the house. My almost 3 year old is in love with the house.
